Schedule trigger

Write and post your weekly status update to Slack automatically

Every Friday at 5pm, what you shipped this week is summarized and posted to your team channel.

Tell Trama: “Every Friday at 5pm, write a summary of what I closed in Linear this week and post it to #team-updates on Slack.” Trama runs on that schedule, reads your closed issues, has AI turn them into a short update, and posts it to the channel. You review the automation once; after that it runs by itself.

What to type

Press Cmd+Option+X from any app and describe it in your own words. For example:

“Every Friday at 5pm, write a summary of the Linear issues I closed this week and post it to #team-updates on Slack.”

If anything is unclear — which spreadsheet, which channel, what time — Trama asks before it builds.

What Trama builds

  1. Trigger: Schedule. Fridays at 17:00, on your Mac’s clock.
  2. Linear (via its official MCP server). Lists the issues you closed in the last seven days. GitHub commits or pull requests work the same way.
  3. AI step. Writes a short, readable update: what shipped, what is next, anything blocked.
  4. Slack: Send message. Posts it to the channel you named.

You see these steps before anything runs. Ask questions, change any of them in plain English, then switch the automation on.

Make it yours

Change it by saying what you want different:

  • “…send it to me first so I can edit it” — a notification instead of posting.
  • “…use my GitHub pull requests merged this week instead.”
  • “…in Portuguese.”

What you need

Slack and Linear (or GitHub) connected in Integrations. Your Mac must be on and awake at the scheduled time. An AI provider. Trama runs on macOS 15.7 or later, on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.

Your Mac can do that automatically.

Download Trama, press Cmd+Option+X and describe it.
