Do I need to know how to code?

No. If you can type a sentence, you can use Trama. You describe what you want in plain English — "Every morning, send me a summary of my emails" — and Trama builds the automation. No code, no settings, no diagrams.
What if the automation does something I didn't want?

You review every automation before it ever runs. Trama shows you each step it built and explains what it does. Nothing activates until you turn it on. And you can disable any automation instantly from the menu bar.
Will this slow down my Mac?

No. Trama runs as a lightweight background process with no dock icon. It only does work when one of your triggers fires. You won't notice it's there — which is the point.
Is my data private?

Trama runs on your Mac. The content of what you automate never leaves your device unless your automation explicitly sends it somewhere (like your AI provider, or posting to Slack). Steps that use an integration pass through our servers to reach that service; we keep only content-free run records, and you can turn diagnostics off in Settings. We don't read your emails, clipboard, or files.
Can I change an automation after creating it?

Yes — just open the automation and describe what you want to change in plain English. "Change the time to 8am", "also send it to Slack", "skip weekends" — Trama updates it instantly. You can also ask it to explain what it built before you change anything.
What does "bring your own AI key" mean?

Trama uses AI to build and run your automations, powered by your own AI account. If you already use Claude Code or Codex, Trama works through it — no key, and it counts toward the plan you already pay for. Otherwise paste an API key once during setup: Google Gemini has a free tier that needs no card, or use Anthropic, OpenAI, Groq or any OpenAI-compatible server. AI calls go directly from your Mac to your provider, never through our servers, and you pay your provider only for what you use.

Any Mac with macOS 15.7 (Sequoia) or later, Apple Silicon or Intel. Trama runs in the background from the menu bar, with no dock icon.
How much does Trama cost?

Free forever for 3 active automations and 150 integration steps a day. Pro is $10 a month or $96 a year: 15 active automations and 600 integration steps a day. Max is $18 a month or $168 a year: unlimited automations and integration steps. Runs on your Mac are unlimited on every plan, and you pay your AI provider directly for what you use — Google Gemini has a free tier.
What can start an automation?

Copying text, a keyboard shortcut, text you select, a schedule, a new screenshot, a file added to a folder, an app opening or closing, an upcoming calendar event, an incoming webhook, or a GitHub event. The result can go to your clipboard, a notification, straight into the app you are using, a file, Apple Notes, Apple Reminders, or a connected service like Slack, Google Sheets or Notion.
How is Trama different from Zapier or Apple Shortcuts?

Is it safe to let AI run scripts on my Mac?

Trama checks every shell and AppleScript step before it runs. Anything that changes files, sends data off your Mac or deletes something is shown to you — the exact script and what it will touch — and needs your approval; destructive steps ask every time. Dangerous commands, like using sudo or reading passwords, are always refused.
