What’s new

Changelog

Every release of Trama for Mac, newest first.

What changed in each version of Trama for Mac. Trama updates itself; you don’t need to download anything again.

Trama 0.8.16

  • When Trama needs to ask you something while building or changing a workflow, it now offers a few answers you can pick with one click. You can still type your own.
  • Changes you ask for in a workflow's Trama assistant are no longer saved right away: you see what will change and choose Apply or Discard. After applying, Test it runs the workflow once so you can check it works.
  • In "What went wrong?", you can now answer the AI's questions, see what a fix changes before you apply it, and test the workflow again right after.
  • If Claude Code or Codex is not signed in when you build a workflow, Trama now offers to open its sign-in in Terminal, or to switch to another AI.
  • After you sign in to an app from the MCP library in Integrations, its card now shows it as connected right away. Before, it could stay on "Sign-in pending".

Trama 0.8.15

  • Closing a card that a workflow shows now simply stops that run. Before, the run was marked as failed, which could count toward failure alerts and switching the workflow off.
  • When a workflow stops on purpose, its history entry no longer shows an error, and the step where it stopped says why.

Trama 0.8.14

  • Servers from the MCP library that ask you to sign in, such as Stripe, are now available to the workflow builder as soon as you sign in. Before, the builder could miss them until Trama was reopened, and build a step that asked for an API key instead.
  • Searching the MCP library now waits until you pause typing, and when a search takes longer than usual, Trama says it is still searching instead of looking stuck.

Trama 0.8.13

  • Behind-the-scenes improvements to diagnostics. Nothing changes in how you use Trama.

Trama 0.8.12

  • On the Pro plan, every server you find in the MCP library now connects, including from the search during setup. Before, connecting some library servers could fail with a message saying only Max can add a server by address, and then work on the next try.
  • When a server needs a different plan, Trama now shows the plans to choose from instead of an error line.

Trama 0.8.9

  • Dropping several files on a watched folder at once now runs the workflow for every one of them, one after another. Before, only the first file ran and the others were silently skipped.
  • A big batch of files is no longer cut short after ten: past ten in a minute, Trama slows down and runs the rest over the next few minutes instead of skipping them.
  • New setup help for API keys: onboarding now explains where to get a key, who bills it, and recommends Google Gemini, which is free and needs no card. Copy a key on the provider's website and Trama offers to use it.
  • When a free plan runs out of requests for the day, Trama now says so and when it resets, instead of asking you to wait tens of thousands of seconds.
  • If a subscription renewal fails, Trama now shows it in the sidebar and in Settings with a button to update your card, and your plan stays up to date without restarting Trama.

Trama 0.8.8

  • Fixed safe scripts being blocked for safety, such as a step that reads the text of a Word document. Scripts that would really be refused are now caught while the workflow is being built, so Trama rewrites them instead of failing on the first run.
  • Fixed iPhone notifications failing with "That account does not support reminders" when iCloud syncs your calendars but not your reminders. Trama now uses an account that has Reminders, or tells you where to turn them on.
  • Fixed building workflows with Gemini failing with "Function call is missing a thought_signature" whenever Trama had to ask Gemini to correct its first attempt.

Trama 0.8.7

  • Workflows that watch a folder now run once per file, after the file has finished copying or saving. Before, a large file or a file saved by another app could start the same workflow two or three times, sometimes before the file was complete.
  • A folder workflow now looks only at files placed directly in the folder, so a workflow that sorts files into subfolders no longer starts itself again. Turn on "Include files in subfolders" in the workflow's trigger if you want those too, or simply ask for it when you describe the workflow.
  • Changing a folder workflow's folder or file pattern now takes effect right away, without restarting Trama. "*.pdf" now also matches files ending in ".PDF".
  • Dropping a large file, such as a video, into a watched folder no longer makes Trama load the whole file into memory.

Trama 0.8.6

  • Trama now tries your API key as soon as you save it, in onboarding and in Settings, so a key that can't be used shows up right away instead of on your first workflow.
  • When your Anthropic account has no credit left, Trama now says so and tells you where to add it, instead of showing a generic error.

Trama 0.8.5

  • Trama now keeps itself up to date. New versions download in the background and install the next time Trama restarts. Until then, a dot on the menu bar icon and a card in the sidebar let you restart right away. You can turn this off in Settings → General → Updates.
  • Fixed Trama freezing for a few seconds right after opening, and asking to access your Desktop when none of your workflows needed it.
  • Error reports no longer include the names of your workflows, files or folders. Each report now carries your account's internal ID (never your email or name) so we can follow up when something breaks for you.

Trama 0.8.4

  • Use Codex for your coding tasks. Steps that hand work to your coding agent — reviewing a pull request, answering a question about a project — now run on Codex too, whichever one you picked as Trama's AI. You can also ask for Claude Code or Codex by name.
  • Setup now checks that Claude Code or Codex really works before moving on. If something's off — an old version, a plan out of usage — it tells you how to fix it right there, instead of your first workflow failing.
  • Clearer messages when your coding agent can't answer, with what to do next.
  • Using your own AI server (Ollama, LM Studio…)? Setup now checks the address and suggests the right one, and short placeholder keys like "ollama" work.

Trama 0.8.3

  • The update window now shows what's new in each version, right here — no more web page.
  • New to Trama? Setup may ask how you heard about us. It's optional, one tap, and only asked when we can't tell on our own.

Trama 0.8.2

  • With Settings → Diagnostics on, Trama now tells us how far setup got — onboarding, AI provider, first workflow — so we can see where people get stuck and fix it. It sends step names and fixed labels only, never what you type or what your workflows contain. Turn it off and nothing is sent.
  • Each run's record (which workflow ran, when, and whether it worked) now reaches us whenever Diagnostics is on, as Settings describes. The separate "Include failed workflow details" switch is gone; it no longer controlled anything.

Your Mac can do that automatically.

Download Trama, press Cmd+Option+X and describe it.
